Laundry Room – Before

The laundry room is the first on the list of re-do’s.  I’m a big believer of going after the low hanging fruit first.  We have a gallon of primer, a gallon of grey paint and will be making a stop at the hardware store for a quart of wildly fun orange.  The walls will be grey and the two cabinets on the wall will be orange.  The kind of orange that brings a smile to your face.

The challenge with this room is that it has doors on 3 walls and the machines on the 4th.  Also, the reason it is being pushed to the top of the list is that next week the new water softener unit will be installed and part of it goes between the washer and dryer.  Better to do the painting before it is installed in my opinion.

When you walk into the laundry room from the breezeway this is your view.  Impressive huh?  Yeah, I didn’t think so either.  There was a big bulky water softener in between the washer and dryer but we had to remove it.  The new one will be less obtrusive, but still needs to be in that location.

This is the door to the “master bathroom”

 The door to the kitchen

The door to the breezeway on the left and the kitchen on the right.

The doors will remain the colors they are for the moment.  I have to do a little experimenting before I tackle those.

It will be a busy day tomorrow, but hopefully by days end i’ll have some progress pictures for you.
