Save money and time by making your own pickling spice. This is how we do it.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp peppercorns
  • 2 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsp dill seed
  • 2 tbsp whole allspice
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 6 bay leaves

Instructions
 

  • Put all spices into a jar and shake them up.
    Put a lid on the jar and put it in your cabinet or use it right away.
    Now you have pickling spice whenever you need it for a fraction of the price.

    How much do you use in a pint, quart, etc for pickles?
    How much do you use per pound of meat?
    Any special instructionsl
