Hawaiian Pork Bowl

This simple and delicious meal works up in 10 minutes when you use your home-canned pork.

Ingredients
  

Rice

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 cup pineapple juice

Pork

  • 1 pint Canned pork
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp corn starch

Instructions
 

  • Cook rice per directions using pineapple juice instead of water
  • In a sperate pan, mix all ingredients and bring to a boil
  • Mix cornstarch and water in a seperate bowl, pour into pan with pork and mix well.
  • Serve pork mixture over rice

  2. Good question. I don’t eat pork and wondered about chicken myself. Did you ever get an answer??
    I have canned chicken on hand all the time and this would be great but I don’t want to waste a trial.
