Ugly Chicken Gravy & Biscuits is comfort food all the way. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Chicken Gravy & Biscuits

Ingredients
  

Biscuits

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup cold milk
  • 1/2 cup very cold butter

Chicken Gravy

  • 1 pint Ugly Chicken
  • 1 lrg carrot – diced
  • 1 lrg celery rib – diced
  • 1 med onion – diced
  • 1 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp ground thyme
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Biscuits

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees
  • blend flour and cold butter in a bowl until the mixture resembles coarse meal.
    Stir in the milk until a sticky dough forms.
    Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 8 times
    Cut biscuts and place on a non-greased baking sheet
    Bake for 15 minutes

Chicken Gravy

  • Cook onion, carrot and celery in butter until soft.
    Add salt, pepper and thyme.
    Stir in flour
    Add chicken broth and milk
    Add 1 pint of ugly chicken
    Stir until thickened
    Serve over biscuits

    How much chicken would you use if it wasn’t canned chicken?
